The Diving Dog

I was running one day and suddenly I saw a ball and it went into the pool. I dove in the pool and I got it but ... I couldn't get back up. So my owner got me out of the pool and then I stayed away from the ball going in the pool. I stayed not wet. Now I will stay and I grinned. I played wisely and carefully.

"Agrhhhh! What is this place? In this place there are lots of books so it must be a library,"

Creak, creak.

"Hello, come out! My name is Molly. I'm lost I can't find my way home," said Molly.

"Well I'm sorry I can't help you because I don't know where you live," said the turkey.

"That's ok because I'll be able to get home hopefully. What is that hole up there? Yay I'm home!"

"OK Freddie, I'm the mayor! Stop right now!"

"Do you want the house Fred?" said Freddie.

"No Freddie I don't want the house. Now leave Freddie. NOW! Ok buddy?" said Fred

Inquiry Learning About Birds

Our BIG question that we are trying to answer is ...

How can we help our endemic and native birds and why do we need to?

We watched a YouTube clip about the murmuration of starlings. Watch this and then ask us what it is all about!

On Thursday 16th March we were learning about birds. We had a visiting expert, who was Alannah's Mum, and she taught us about beaks, feet, bones and what birds eat!

Here are some photos of us looking at bird's bones. 

Bird's bones are hollow. They have struts inside to keep them strong but they are not filled with marrow so that they are light and they can fly!

"What is that? It looks like a clock. It's got a hole in it. Oh, what's that in the leaves? It's a key! I'm going to put the key in it. Arghhh exploding ink! Now I'm blue, I have to go home and have a bath. I'm never touching that clock again. Mum, I found a clock and it exploded."

"Have you learnt your lesson?" said Mum.

"Arghhhh, please sir do not eat me!" said the strawberry.

"Of course I am going to eat you," said the snail.

"Oh sir, it would like a horror movie to see you do that!

But the snail ate the strawberry and there was strawberry juice everywhere! There were seeds and they grew into a strawberry plant.

The Dog and the Water

"What a throw!" barked Tom. He leaped into the ocean to get the ball. His mouth was wide open. Suddenly he saw a flash there was something on the bottom of the sea floor and then he saw the ball. "Hurray," Tom bubbled. He swam down to get it. Tom was so pleased he leaped out of the water. When Tom got out of the water the ball fell out of his mouth and he was so upset from all that he's been through. "Here I go again." So he leaped into the sea.

I'm a little dog. I'm going to find someone with a ball and go and fetch it. Seriously? He threw the ball in the water!

Argghhh, the water has a creature, a scary creature! Everyone the water isn't safe now.

"Holy watch, it's a watch. Hey, this might be the key to fix it. I'm going to go and see if it fits. Hey, it fits! I'm going to change the time to 12 o'clock. I really want to be naughty. By the way, it is 17 past 4 on the watch and I'm going to change it to 12 o'clock. Oh no, my Mum is coming. I'd better hide."

"Daniel!" yelled Mum.

"I'm over here!" said Daniel

"Why were you hiding?" said Mum

"Because I thought you would tell me off because I changed the time to 12 o'clock."
